There have been several wins for stuff like best makeup and costume designs, best sound effects, best art direction, and cinematography, etc. However, the best picture award has continued to elude the horror genre. There have been some unforgettable horror classics that deserved to be appreciated on the so-called highest platform for global cinema, and it is unfortunate that the Oscar award treated these films like an ignorant stepmother.
